The "Grenzgängerweg Nothweiler (D) - Wingen (F)" car park is located at the end of Lemberger Straße directly on the
German - French border. There are several information boards with hiking suggestions and other information on the square.
A former customs officer's shelter is also still right next to the road. An information board tells about the history of the hut. Due to the Schengen Agreement of 1993, border controls were discontinued here.
We used the parking lot to get relatively quickly to the Kaiser - Wilhelm - Stein and the three castles Hohenbourg, Lœwenstein and Wegelnburg.

Hiking
Since parking in Nothweiler (exception: visitor parking lot of the visitor mine) is prohibited almost everywhere in the village, this visitor parking lot is very well suited as a starting point (for hikes to Wegelnburg, to Fleckenstein Castle ruins or for the German-French premium hiking trail "Grenzgängerweg").
