The type of post mill was widespread throughout Central Europe in the late Middle Ages. Today there are only a few of them left. That makes this example, built in 1704, even more special. In theory, it is still operational, but is no longer used today because of the high level of personnel required. If the wind direction changes, the whole mill box has to be manually realigned. It can be viewed on the first Sunday in September, the annual mill day.
