The former customs and trading port became the "Medien Hafen". In the Medienhafen, the extraordinary architecture is captivating. Asymmetry dominates the Gehry buildings. The Medienhafen now attracts thousands of tourists. Very nearby stands the unmissable Rhine Tower (Rheinturm). From a height of 172 m, the tower offers an ideal view of the Medienhafen, the State Parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia, the WDR regional studio, and Düsseldorf's landmark, the City Gate (Stadttor).
