Between old deciduous trees lies this large pond in the middle of Fredenbaumpark. This green oasis in Dortmund emerged around 1880 from the Westerholz city forest. Berlin zoo director Hermann Geitner transformed the now approximately 63-hectare site into a park by 1906. Benches along the shore invite you to take a break. Several times a year, events take place in the park, from flea markets to Christmas light markets.
