Hiking

In the last days of World War II, the hard fighting on the left bank of the Lower Rhine also claimed many victims in and around Kamp-Lintfort; not only among the soldiers. The civilian population also suffered from heavy air raids and suffered heavy casualties. 600 dead were buried by the grave service of the advancing American troops in a grave complex next to the Kamp-Lintfort municipal cemetery; others initially found a temporary grave in the cemeteries of the surrounding communities, but also in gardens and on the side of the road.
