The path is not really meant to be done with a bike. Anyway, with a mtb and decent riding skills it can be done. There's a staircase at the beginning and at the end (direction Ponteland) and a couple of fences. One of them requires the ability to lift the bike over it. When I crossed there were sheep, so drive carefully and don't disturb the animals.
