For a long time, a large amount of mine water flowed out of the Carlsstollen and fell down as a waterfall. Due to the Erbstollen below, which was later put into operation, the water level was lowered, the Carlstollen became dry and no longer carried any water. At that time, the waterfall was a popular hiking destination.
