In the year 1730 a volcano erupted that completely transformed the landscape of Lanzarote. Among other things, this resulted in the lunar landscapes that can be seen throughout the Timanfaya National Park. This is the fourth most visited in Spain. The area is extremely protected for its unique ecological value.
