The beach stairs have been restored, you can start your way back to Travemünde there if you don't want to go to Niendorf.

Hiking
The beach stairs can be used well for circular walks alternating between the beach and the cliffs. There is the possibility to hike both sections from Niendorf (round about 7 km) or from Travemünde (about 8 km).
The more delightful and natural section is the route from Travemünde to the bridge. However, this section is not recommended in strong winds and a slope has slipped about 1 km in front of the stairs and the crossing is difficult (as of January 2020).
