The Schafsteich near Tappenbeck is a small but beautiful natural idyll in the district of Gifhorn, right on the border with Wolfsburg. It is known above all as a local recreation area and fishing water. It is surrounded by a narrow belt of forest and reed zones, which visually sets it apart from the rather flat agricultural landscape of the surrounding area.
