Built in 1933, Nebotičnik (meaning "skyscraper") is a fine example of interwar architecture. From the café terrace on the Nebotičnik, there is a magnificent view of Ljubljana, one of the most beautiful in the city. The classic Slovenian hit "Na vrhu Nebotičnika" describes the visit of the local café as a first-class romantic experience.

The "Skyscraper of Ljubljana" (Nebotičnik), a work of the architect Vladimir Šubic, was at the time of its construction in 1933, the tallest building in the Balkans and the ninth highest in Europe.
