This bluestone cross bears the inscription:
Paul Linnert S June 22, 1745 from Kaldherberich.
The S behind the name Linnert probably stands for son.
Rector Alt was present when the cross was found and spontaneously decided that it should be built into the wall.

Built in 1898 in the Neo-Romanesque style, the church is still visible from afar today when approaching Kalterherberg.
Under Pastor Arnoldy, after approx. 3 years of construction, the "Eifel Cathedral" was consecrated on July 14, 1901, by the Cologne auxiliary bishop Dr. Antonius Fischer.
