In the past, a gruesome crime occurred in the Kayhauser Moor.
More than 90 years ago, a bog body was found in the Kayhauser Moor in Bad Zwischenahn - the Kayhauser boy.
The 7 to 13 year old boy was stabbed to death around 200 years before the birth of Christ and sunk in the moor. The motive for the crime is still unknown today... A weathered wooden sign in the moor commemorates the location where the body was found.
