The canal branches off from Nymphenburg Palace and eventually flows past the Dantebad to the Olympic Park. From there, it follows the path eastward, past Georgenschwaige and Petuelpark. At the eastern end of the park, it makes a sharp turn to the southeast and runs under Leopoldstraße through Lake Schwabing. Finally, it crosses the Ungererbad and empties into the Schwabinger Bach.
