This point in the forest has been marked by a black cross for a long time. Some claim it dates back to the time of the plague. A devastating fire once devastated the Zellerwald. At the Black Cross he finally came to a standstill. The cross, which in a way stopped the fire, was still singed on the crossbeam, but remained standing.
Several years ago the original Black Cross was replaced by a new, but just as simple cross because it was already rotten.
