Hiking

Banyalbufar is a picturesque mountain village founded in the 10th century. Its name means “small vineyard by the sea”. Until phylloxera struck in the 19th century, the area around Banyalbufar was one of the most important wine-growing regions on Mallorca - its winegrowers supplied the Spanish royal family with their Malvasia, among others. The terraced fields for viticulture were laid out in the early days of the town and have shaped its appearance to this day.
