Hiking

Graystones is a Wainwright summit in the North Western Fells of the Lake District. It rises to 1,496 feet (456 m) and is easily accessed from the Whinlatter Pass. Greystones is the name of the summit, rather than the entire fell, which Kirk Fell (not to be confused with the much more prominent Kirk Fell above Wasdale).

Graystones enjoys views towards the Skiddaw Massif and also across the water to Scotland on a clear day. It's a stiff pull up from the col between Graystones and Broom Fell but it's worth it! Keep walking north-west if you want to bag the Wainwright top at (452m).

My first of seven Wainwrights of the day. A great first one to do with beautiful views of the area. A long way to go today though!
