The Jösigk is located in the middle of the city forest, approx. 7 km from Gräfenhainichen in the direction of Schköna. The Jösigk was once a swamp area. There was a peat digging and an old village here, which had already disappeared around 1500. In 1720 an inn and a forester's lodge were built.
