The parish church of St. Pankratius in Stockum is the Catholic church of the village of Stockum.
The parish was first mentioned in documents in 976.
The current three-bay hall church was built in the 13th century through early Gothic conversions of an older Romanesque basilica.
Inside there is, among other things, a beautiful baptismal font from 1220.

According to tradition, at the end of the 3rd / beginning of the 4th century under Emperor Diocletian, Saint Pankratius, to whom this Stockum church is consecrated, was publicly executed for his Christian faith. The body of the martyr was buried on the Roman Via Aurelia - in the catacombs later named after him - under today's church "San Pancrazio". His feast day is on May 12th, he is one of the three so-called "ice saints" in popular piety, together with Servatius and Bonifatius (in some areas supplemented by "Cold Sophie" one day later).
