Hiking

This area was used militarily by the British until the 1970s. It was a fuel depot (popularly known as a petrol depot) that was used to supply the military air bases at that time, Elmpt and Widenrath. It is currently being renaturalized and, with luck, you can watch grazing cattle and goats that help.
