At the beginning of the 20th century, the "unkemänner" (toads) were causing trouble in Füchtorf. The people of Füchtorf were able to successfully drive them away. Today, the village fountain with five life-sized figures symbolizes this event. The village fountain, which was inaugurated in 2008, has now become a landmark of Füchtorf. In order for it to shine in new splendor in time for the Füchtorf Asparagus Festival, it underwent a visual and technical "rejuvenation" that was sponsored by the Cultural Foundation.
