Hiking

St. Meinolfus, who founded the monastery Böddeken and was archdeacon in Paderborn, was born here. The chapel was later built and is still reminiscent of his birthplace in the peace valley of Böddeken. Every year, on the last Sunday in August, a procession from Wewelsburg leads here.

At this point there was a chapel from 1742, which later fell into disrepair. Today's chapel was built in 1856 in neo-Gothic style on behalf of Georg von Mallinckrodt. There is an old linden tree in front of the chapel.
The von Mallinckrodt family's hereditary burial site is located next to the chapel. Further south in the valley is the Böddeken military cemetery.
