The climb through Sella is one of the most popular climbs in the Alicante province. It is a constant and long climb, usually just over an hour, which takes you to over 1000 meters in altitude. The end of the climb to the pass can be tough, with a gradient of over 10%. Generally, it is a very quiet road with spectacular views.

This pass has been part of the route of the Vuelta Ciclista a España. It is a category 1 pass.

On the way over Guadalest you pass two passes, the Port de Confrides Δ 970 m and the Port de Tudons Δ 1025 m. Once you reach the top you get a little feeling of victory. Then there's the magnificent descent!🚴🏻‍♂️ A great tour in the mountains that is really worth all the effort!

Already an overwhelming feeling to cross a pass so close to the sea that easily breaks the 1,000-meter mark! In the meantime, the mountain even seems to have grown by a meter (see pictures). 😉

No matter which direction you ride now, you can definitely look forward to an impressive descent that will drive the sweat from your face with a fresh headwind. But calmly stay in place for a moment longer and enjoy the excellent view.

The circular route ascending Port de Tudons and Confrides from Benidorm plunges you into the mountainous heart of the Costa Blanca, offering a landscape that transitions from vast olive and almond groves to dense pine forests and dramatic rock formations. As you climb, the views open up to reveal deep valleys and imposing peaks, with Puig Campana and the village of Sella forming a dramatic backdrop. It's a road cycling experience that combines natural beauty with a significant physical challenge.

This 77.9-kilometer route, with an elevation gain of 1745 meters, is classified as difficult and will take you approximately 4 hours and 24 minutes. You can make a strategic stop in Finestrat for a coffee before the main climbs, or refuel in Confrides or Guadalest.
