Hiking

Part of the European watershed runs over the Dillberg, which is not forested on its summit. In 1987 a 2m high stele was erected here at the hiking car park. This symbolizes a boundary stone and also the watershed, because the Dillberg is also the border mountain between Middle Franconia and the Upper Palatinate. The Kaltenbach on the east side flows via Pegnitz, Main and Rhine towards the North Sea, the Siegenbach flows into the Altmühl, further to the Danube and then into the Black Sea.
