Hiking

20 million years ago, laurel forests were widespread throughout Europe. They died out during the Ice Age and could only survive on Madeira, the Azores and the Canary Islands. Climbing plants, tendrils, giant ferns. Plants that would otherwise have become extinct in Europe have survived here. It was declared a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1983.

El Cubo de la Galga is a ravine covered by a lush laurel forest that is not far from purely tropical places in Costa Rica or Borneo. The path is simple and pleasant and can be done running without problems.
