It is only the second highest street in Austria. The highest road in Austria is the Ötztaler Gletscherstraße, which reaches a height of 2829 m at the tunnel exit to the Tiefenbachferner and also about 2800 m on the Rettenbachferner. But I think the Kaunertaler Gletscherstraße is much more scenic.
