A huge ancient woodland covering 700 acres, Lower Woods is one of the largest forests in the South West. The enchanting nature has remained relatively untouched for several changes – some areas look as they would have 500 years ago. You will not only find fascinating trees here, old meadow species, butterflies and birds also call the forest home.

Although there is no bicycle parking onsite, cyclists are welcome. You will also find various hiking paths. More information can be found, here: gloucestershirewildlifetrust.co.uk/nature-reserves/lower-woods
