The Hansa-Gymnasium is housed in a three-story brick building, which stands architecturally outstanding on the banks of the Strelasund at the beginning of a promenade. It was built in the Art Nouveau style with elements of Neo-Gothic.
Characteristic features are the stair towers with copper roofs and a viewing tower, as well as an imposing main entrance. Round arch, pointed arch, and rectangular windows alternate floor by floor.
