Around Jugger Howe you can see a number of Bronze Age burial cairns which are thousands of years old. The moorland landscape is wonderfully-remote and affords a real sense of solitude, too.

During World War Two, Jugger Howe Moor was used as a training site for military tanks and has never really recovered, hence a restoration project was commenced in 2020 to restore a couple of hectares on the very top of the moor, around the concrete hard standing that still exists.
