The Benediktushof is a facility for the disabled (and not a facility for the homeless, GPS Biker was probably mistaken for the Maria Veen house in front of vfka-westfalen.de/haus-maria-veen/) and is roughly divided in the areas of living, workshops, vocational training centers and assisted outpatient living.

Gravel riding
The sandstone Saint Benedict in front of the Benediktushof. Statue of St. Bernardus: At the junction of Poststraße and Am Kloster street (near the old main entrance to the grounds) stands another striking wooden statue. It was created in 1945 by the then master craftsman Drechslermeister Droste. As it is located in the immediate vicinity of the present-day Benediktushof, the depicted St. Bernardus (namesake of the original local Trappist monastery) is often mistakenly believed to be Saint Benedict.
