Mountain biking

Byway from the ww2 Canadian Military Road on the North Downs, into Shere. There's the possibility of occasionally bumping into a 4x4/moto rider, but it's usually quiet. Doable on a gravel bike but best on MTB with suspension. Can be wet in the bottom 200m due to a perpetually leaking water pipe.

Imho totally not doable on gravel, particularly descending. Walked 50% of it and it shaked my brain inside out.

Mountain biking

Any route up the North Downs is hard especially when straight on. However I found the surface rutted from 4x4 and scramblers with loose chalk rocks making it technically hard as well even in dry conditions. As they say 'other routes are available' IMHO
