Very nice, small but very well-kept bird park, which is maintained by the local nature and bird protection association with much love. Admission is free, but a small donation for conservation is requested. In the park many parakeets from all over the world can be seen. A destination for the whole family!

Hiking

The bird park in Maria Veen was founded in 1971 and is looked after by the nature and bird protection association (chairman Werner Homoet: Tel. 02864/2808). A magnificent bird life awaits the visitors in the facility, which is beautifully situated in the forest. About 50 different species of parakeets and macaws have their home here. The area, which is always well cared for, with over 400 birds in around 90 aviaries, is known far beyond the local borders. The bird and small animal fair takes place every third Sunday of the month (from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.).
