June 17, 2026, Église Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption

The Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption church of Casteljaloux is a former collegiate church located in the heart of the town. A first Gothic church, built in the 15th century, housed a chapter of canons at the time. Destroyed in 1568 during the Wars of Religion, it was rebuilt from the 1680s onwards on its original foundations and according to the same plan, before being completed in 1763. Restored several times in the 19th century, it has a rare peculiarity: the motto of the Republic "Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité" appears on its pediment, added during work partly financed by the State in 1899. The building has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1998.

The lake of Clarens and its leisure center offer an ideal space during the warm season to enjoy the body of water. It's an ideal stop to cool off after a bike tour!

The Church of Our Lady of the Assumption of Casteljaloux is a former collegiate church in Casteljaloux in the Lot-et-Garonne department in France. It has been listed as a monument since 1998. A primitive Gothic church, under the same name, dates from the 15th century. It was destroyed in 1568. The current church was built from the 1680s, on the Gothic foundations and according to the same plan; it was completed in 1763. Several restorations took place in the 19th century, and the financial participation of the State during restoration work in 1899 explains the addition, on the pediment, of the inscription of the motto of the Republic "LIBERTÉ, ÉGALITÉ, FRATERNITÉ", unusual on a religious building. It was classified as a historical monument by order of November 26, 199. The Church of Our Lady was built in the 15th century and housed a chapter of canons.

Lake Clarens, a 17-hectare lake, located in the heart of a 130-hectare wooded area, will seduce you whatever your ambitions. In a privileged setting with the pine forest in the background, the quality facilities of the leisure center await you: white sand beach, walks, children's playground, inflatable structures in the water, tree climbing, pedal boats, casino... Sports, leisure or even concerts are organized throughout the year.
