There is a pilgrim stamp. And nice place to switch off. If it weren't for the traffic.

There is no historical evidence of when the first chapel was built. A first indication is that a chapel was destroyed in May 1525 during the Peasants' War. Pilgrimages did not take place again until the plague year of 1555. Since the chapel dedicated to Our Lady was still destroyed, pilgrimages were carried out from 1602 with a portable altar. It was not until 1801 that a new chapel could be built. As this became too small over time, the neo-Gothic chapel, which still exists today, was built in 1897/1898.

Four pilgrimages take place here every year. The most popular is the horse pilgrimage on the 2nd Sunday after the Visitation of María (July 2nd). A special highlight was the Pope's visit on September 23, 2011. There is an information center nearby for this occasion.

The "cold linden tree" can be found when you come out of the forest, from Hundeshagen, onto the street. A somewhat sharper breeze blows on this hill, which is probably what gave the stately tree its name.
