The Stocksee, located east of the town of the same name, extends into the districts of Segeberg and Plön. It is around 200 hectares in size and has a maximum depth of 30.2 m. The lake is particularly important as a resting and moulting area and is therefore partly part of the Mittlerer Stocksee and surrounding area nature reserve. A hiking trail runs 11.7 kilometers around the lake, mostly close to the shore. An unguarded bathing area is located in the middle of the town of Stocksee. Motorboats are not allowed on the lake.
