The Ladelund concentration camp subcamp, located 20 km northeast of Niebüll on the German-Danish border, was occupied by prisoners on November 1, 1944, as a subcamp of the Neuengamme concentration camp in connection with the construction of the so-called Frisian Wall. The Frisian Wall was a planned, but only partially completed, defensive structure to be built on the German North Sea coast towards the end of World War II. The Ladelund concentration camp was responsible for the construction of trenches and gun emplacements for a militarily pointless "barrier position" south of the Danish border. The camp was dissolved on December 16, 1944. Within the one and a half months of its existence, 300 of over 2,000 prisoners died. SOURCE: https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/KZ-Au%C3%9Fenlager_Ladelund
