On the ascent to Cardou, you'll have a beautiful view of the Pech de Bugarach, which is unfortunately blocked by trees from the Cardou summit. Note: Komoot has since corrected the point of the photo, and it's now correct. 😊

To be honest, it's just a "small highlight" because there are so many great places to discover here on the northern edge of the Pyrenees! The path leads along the east side of the river, even if the exact location on the Komoot maps is not quite correct. The "rest area" marked there is also likely to be on this side of the river, as there is dense forest opposite. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Be careful, the paths and rocks are very slippery in wet weather. If you've come this far, you should walk a few more meters to the 2 red springs.
