Before planning tours that include the Rendsburg transporter bridge under the railway high bridge, you should check if it is actually operational. Because unfortunately it is stationary more often than it actually runs. Schwebefähre Rendsburg - Live status & timetable https://share.google/SNRTodINiRedFBsbK

The Rendsburg high bridge carries the railway line over the NOK. A ferry hangs on ropes beneath the bridge and can transport four cars and, of course, pedestrians and cyclists. As with all ferries on the NOK, the journey is free.

Basically, the view is always impressive, but most beautiful at sunrise and sunset

What is striking is the massive occurrence of reeds in the wide bank zone.

The pedestrian tunnel was opened at the end of May 1965 as a new transport link between RD and Westerrönfeld and runs under the NOK (North Sea Canal). The tunnel crosses the same place as the old swing bridge from 1913. On each side of the pedestrian tunnel, two escalators and one lift chair each lead down to a depth of 27 m below the canal mirror. The tunnel for road traffic was opened in 1961.
