The church of Salonnes has a rich history dating back to the 8th century, when it was built to house the relics of Saint-Privat and Saint-Hilaire. After being destroyed during conflicts over the salt mines and later the Thirty Years' War, it was rebuilt in 1540 and again in 1750. The most striking element is the Gothic portal, which is the only original part from the 16th century to have been preserved. Made of Jaumont stone, it features an accolade arcade flanked by pinnacles. Three Gothic niches above the double doors recall the ornate style of the late Gothic period.

While strolling between the tall rows of trees on Place de la Carrière, it's worth taking a look at the rooftops running parallel to it. A veritable flood of chimneys is spread across the roof gables. A quirky sight.

Third site of the UNESCO architectural ensemble of the 18th century, this square created in the 16th century, then remodeled in the 18th, was originally a place of jousts and tournaments, hence its name "Carrière". https://www.nancy-tourisme.fr/offres/place-de-la-carriere-nancy-fr-2037091/

The long square connects the old town with the 18th century new town, which was founded by Duke Stanislas. The west and east sides are bordered by two rows of plane trees. A low wall surrounds the square, the corners are formed by four fountains with children's figures. At the southern and northern ends, a high wrought iron fence borders the square.
