Very nice wine-growing family with good wines for little money, there are small snacks, opening hours depend on the weather, here we recommend the WhatsApp channel of the winery

A narrow forest path leads over the summit, which is also popular with mountain bikers.

One of the Palatinate Forest Association's more than 300 knight's stones is located here. It is assumed that the 5 boundary stones, “which were set into a large sandstone slab in the immediate vicinity of the Ritterstein, are related to the Haingeraiden [a type of forest cooperative]. The largest of the 'Five Stones' contains a large number of engraved boundary signs and house brands that signaled participation in forest rights. It is a Haingeraide-Loog rock (Eitelmann 2005, page 181). [...] The Ritterstein part of the name 'Lolosruhe' refers to a bench that was once set up at the top of the pass. A connection is often made to Lola Montez, a mistress of the Bavarian King Ludwig I (1786 - 1868), whose summer residence Ludwigshöhe was a few kilometers down the valley (Eitelmann, 2005, p.184)." Source (quoted verbatim) and further information: https://www.kuladig.de/ Objektansicht/KLD-272305 King Ludwig I's affair with the Irish-born dancer Eliza Gilbert (stage name: Lolo Montez) was one of the reasons why the king abdicated in 1848 in connection with the March Revolution.
