The early Gothic brick building was built in the 14th century. The square tower (r) bears a Romanesque diamond-shaped spire, which is unique in Mecklenburg. https://www.auf-nach-mv.de/reiseziele/a-dorfkirche-dorf-mecklenburg

Considering its size (not particularly large), the church has some powerful struts at the back. It looks like someone was trying to stabilize the church.

The originally brick Gothic village church was built in the 14th century and remodeled in the 17th century. The nave with a flat painted wooden coffered ceiling from the 17th century with Christ as foolish and wise virgins and other ornamentation is polygonally closed in the east. The Gothic windows were added around 1880 and were previously flat rectangular windows from the 17th century. The steeple has a squat, pyramidal spire. The late-Renaissance-style interior of the church goes back to Duke Adolf Friedrich I of Mecklenburg, who donated the altarpiece (1622) depicting the Last Supper and four Passion scenes, as well as the matching pulpit (1618). The figures of the triumphal cross were donated by the steward Hans Schmidt in 1633. The organ is a work by Marcus Runge from 1912 with seven stops on a manual and pedal.

The church is not only very beautiful to look at from the outside. As soon as the door is open, it is worth taking a look inside. Because almost everything that can be found in the interior belongs to the old inventory. The ceiling in particular is worth looking up at. A real gem!
