Tips from the Community

Willie
July 26, 2024, Rocky Shore Path in Päijänne National Park

Beautiful but rough, the path closer to the middle of the island is a smoother alternative if you don't have the right footwear.

Little pond on the island, there are some paths going to the shore and the water looks clear but I'd say you better swim in the larger lake.

40 minutes ferry connection between Karisalmi bridge and here. Connections from Padasjoki are available, too. The sandy beach here is allright for swimming but maybe a bit crowded with boats. Facilities include a sheltered and an open fire pit as well as an outhouse. Timetable and prices: http://kulkeevettenhalki.fi/
