This part of the Berlin-Usedom cycle path takes you along wet meadows, marsh forests and small bulges of the Oder Lagoon. Take a little time to enjoy the unique landscape.

Small harbor with food trucks and nice seating. You can also spend the night at the "campsite" here.

Very nice place. You wouldn't believe that anything like service is still offered here. But yes: a kiosk, a ferry goes over to Usedom, you can rest here and apparently also spend the night in a tent. So: recommended, very nice

Of the two brick churches in Anklam that were once almost twice as high, St. Mary's Church is the older one. It is mentioned for the first time in 1296, but its history probably goes back much further. Even today, the church still shows signs of frequent plan changes and renovations. The expansion to its current size took place in the 14th and 15th centuries; The originally single-nave building becomes a three-aisled hall church. The side aisles are added to the finished choir; the former outer walls now separate the choir and ambulatory. From the double tower that had been started, a single tower was later built asymmetrically to the nave, as a second tower would probably have collapsed on the boggy ground and the nave was larger than planned. The existing basic structure of the second tower can still be seen today and is being converted into an additional yoke for the main nave. The lower part of the current tower is completely bricked up except for a narrow rise, forming a huge mass of stone. The most beautiful and valuable thing about the entire church is its medieval painting, which was probably made around 1350 and still dominates the entire room today. They were hidden under later layers of paint for 400 years until they were rediscovered during excavations in 1936/37. Despite severe war damage and the loss of much of the interior at the storage location, the church was able to be re-consecrated in 1947.

Until 2000, old prefabricated buildings still stood on the market square. By 2018, excavations had secured the foundations of the old town hall, which was located in the middle of the square. The prefabricated buildings were demolished and replaced by typical market buildings. The market square has inscriptions in the ground that reflect the history of Anklam and the Greifenbrunnen was placed in the middle of the square. Over the last 20 years, the market square has developed into a very beautiful central square!
