The name of the present estate complex first appears in the year 1275: Historical documents show that the knight Gottschalk von Helmerickesdorpe resided in a moated castle within the Kossau river, which was already dammed up at the time. Nothing remains of the moated castle. The present estate complex dates from the 18th century. You cannot access the courtyard from the front, but you can get a good overview by going around the back.
