Here you cycle across the Groenlose Slinge: a lowland stream that originates near Winterswijk and flows further along Groenlo and flows into the Berkel between Lochem and Borculo. This stream originally meandered through the city moat of Groenlo, but was later moved north of Groenlo. In the 20th century it largely underwent canalization for improved water drainage. A southern branch, the Ratumse Beek, originates in Germany and flows into the Netherlands at Winterswijk. A beautiful green place to take a break.
