Those who walk the Oosterscheldepad regularly have the honor of walking along these kinds of beautiful paths right by the water. Where air, sea, and silence meet: typical Zeeland!

The Oosterschelde is a beloved nature reserve for bird lovers. Due to the interplay of tides between ebb and flow, a changing and unique landscape is created here daily. Countless birds search for food on the exposed mudflats; you will encounter many waders there in particular. Find a sheltered spot in the hide and observe in silence. And who knows... you might be the lucky one to spot a grey plover.

The marina, built in its current design and founded in 1685, has always been used as a trading port and transshipment port for agricultural products. It is one of the few harbors still in its original state in the municipality of Tholen. The harbor has a historical value and is part of our cultural heritage.

The wind in your hair. The salty sea in the sky. On the one hand, the ships glide past your eyes. The green polder landscape on the other side of the dike is also relaxing. Peace and space framed by National Park Oosterschelde. Everything falls off you here.

The Scherpenissepolder nature reserve, part of the Tureluur plan, has turned out exactly as the Staatsbosbeheer manager had hoped. Birds now hibernate in the wetland area, migratory birds rest there and eat a snack and coastal and meadow birds raise their offspring there. To allow tourists to also enjoy the exuberant natural life in the area, three viewpoints have been built at places where the most can be seen. The viewpoints are somewhere between a bird hide and a picnic area. There is a three kilometer long marked hiking trail. More info at https://www.zeeland.com/nl-nl/visit/191_nl/ Scherpenissepolder
