A fantastic cycling route all around. There's plenty of beautiful scenery and information panels along the way. Several locks are located on the route, and there are plenty of pleasant places to sit. With a bit of luck, you might even spot deer 🦌 in the distance. The ferry landing in Gräpel offers a lovely crossing to the other side. There's lots of information available near the ferry landing, so a visit is highly recommended. There are also great places to sit and a shelter.

The beautiful view from up here is worth the climb. Due to the back dike, the Oste can overflow its banks again at this point and thus form a well-developed floodplain. This wet area attracts a variety of animal species, which can be observed with binoculars from the lookout tower. Kingfishers, ducks, great crested grebes, gray herons and even white-tailed eagles live here in their natural environment. Information boards provide information about the landscape history of the Oste, give information about the birds, flora and fauna of the Oste lowlands.
