Teophilus Fountain The name Teophilus Fountain comes from the religious priest Teophilus Kagerbauer, who belonged to the Franciscan monastery for many years from 1860 and enjoyed celebrating Holy Mass in St. Barbara's Church. After services, he regularly drank from this forest spring and called it his health spring on the Eixelberg. Father Teophilus Kagerbauer died on February 1, 1877, in the Franciscan monastery in Pfreimd at the age of 68. Source: On-site information sign
