Architecture: The wayside shrine consists of a white, brick pillar with a gable roof. The round-arched niche is protected by a diamond-shaped iron grille. Depiction: In the niche, there is a colored group of figures known as a Pietà (Mary with the body of Jesus on her lap). Background: Such monuments were often erected at crossroads or field edges as thanks for a rescue from hardship, in memory of the deceased, or as a sign of popular piety.

Information about the former water supply in Neuensee is told to us by the information board "Tiefbrunnen" 9. Here everyone can enjoy fresh spring water directly from the well. [ Source: from the nature trail flyer: "Rund um den Neuenseer Weiher" ]

On 26.2.1970, approval for preliminary planning was granted. The planning was assigned to Mr. Architect Jakob, Bamberg. Construction work began on 1.8.1973. On 9.9.1973, the foundation stone for the new church was laid. On 13.10.1974, on behalf of the most reverend Archbishop, the most reverend Mr. Martin Wiesend, the current auxiliary bishop of Bamberg, gave the ecclesiastical consecration to the new "Maria Königin" church. The artistic design of the church The four windows of the church are made of leaded glass. This means: the individual pieces of glass are held together with lead strips and fixed in iron frames. The essential aspect of this work is that it is painted with colored glass, not on glass. The lead strips have not only a technical function but also an artistic one. They are the drawing of the motif, i.e., the contour. So much for the technique. The theme of the windows was developed in a meeting with Mr. Pastor Drost. It is, like the entire Gospel, enormously current. The son goes away from the father into the world, believing he will find "real" life here (1st window). After enjoying this world, he has doubts about his life so far, he sees the image of the father in his mind (2nd window). The decision is made. The son returns to the father. He is lovingly welcomed (3rd window). In joy over the son's return, the father gives a feast (symbol of the Last Supper, 4th window). The colored design is adapted to the theme, from dark to light. I thank the Glaskontor Bamberg for the good craftsmanship of the windows. The altar and ambo with symbolic reliefs were worked on by the company Fröhlich, Baunach. The tabernacle and candlesticks come from the workshop of Fr. Schwarzl, Bamberg. The beautiful Christ on the altar wall was restored by the company Birklein. Hochstadt lay on a busy highway. Moreover, a bridge over the Main River had existed near the village since at least the 13th century. To capitalize on the busy traffic, the abbot of the wealthy Cistercian monastery of Langheim had an inn built here. It was first mentioned in 1447. The current building was built in 1605. The coat of arms of the builder, Abbot Johann Bückling, is commemorated on the facade. The abbey was dissolved in 1803. The Bavarian state, as the new owner, sold the inn in 1816. The new innkeepers built their own brewery. In the 19th century, the inn was called "Zur Sonne" (To the Sun) after the sundial on the street front.

You can still see parts of the original design, but it's still very nice. Unfortunately, it's a bit misplaced.
