The church building dates from before the 15th century, with some historians suggesting a church existed as early as 885.  Grade 2 listed building known for its history and various memorials to famous people.  A notable feature is its "One Hand Clock," which dates from the early 17th century.

I love going to Lakeside . It was a spectacular sunny day and I put on my headphones and sang my way through a few laps. The fishermen and other walkers/families probably thought me a nutter but it was good music and the sun was fabulous! I’d have liked to dance!
